Zion National Park is a fantastic place for families to visit. Zion is located in Southwestern Utah and it stretches for 147,000 acres of amazing scenery and attractions. It’s the oldest park in Utah with many natural wonders that will take your breath away. Some of the park’s most interesting landmarks are listed below:

  • The most famous landmark in Zion is the Great White Throne that towers 2,200 feet high. Visitors often spend much of their time staring at the tower in sheer amazement.
  • To reach Angels Landing you’ll need to hike through a half mile trail of very narrow rock. This trail protrudes from the Cathedral Mountain and when you reach Angles Landing, you’ll be standing on an island in the sky that is often surrounded by clouds. It’s an amazing sight to see.
  • The Court of the Patriarchs is an area at the top of a path from which you’ll see three cliffs that are very similar in shape. They are named Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
  • The East Zion National Park Hoodoos is a collection of whimsical rock formations. These rocks have been twisted and manipulated into amazing shapes that vary in size.
  • Checkerboard Mesa is a huge mass of slick rock that has crossbreeding etched into the north side naturally that creates a checkerboard design. This design was created by the weather and erosion throughout the years.
  • The largest arch in the world is the Kolob Arch with a natural span of 310 feet. It’s an extraordinary landmark that will certainly get your attention.

These are just a few of the amazing things that you can see when you visit Zion National Park. There is so much more for families to see that you’ll need to plan more than one trip to enjoy it to its fullest.
